Ocado's retail partners were juggling multiple tools to monitor supply chain exceptions — stock shortages, forecast drift, store communications — each with its own interaction model and visual language.
Our team mapped the daily workflow of operations managers: what they check first, how they escalate, and where context gets lost between systems. The UX goal was not a prettier dashboard but a single surface where managing by exception felt natural.
We prototyped in Figma, tested with partner retailers, and iterated on information hierarchy. Dense data tables needed clear affordances for filtering and drill-down without overwhelming first-time users. We aligned closely with engineering on component reuse from the broader Ocado design system.
The unified command centre reduced average response times significantly and gave stakeholders a shared mental model of supply chain health. Good enterprise UX is often about removing hesitation — making the next action obvious when something goes wrong.
